Shoppe Object x The Folklore Announce Black Lives Matter Action Initiative Collaboration

The partnership will highlight 10 talented independent Black designers and makers in NYC this February

Shoppe Object, the premier home and gift trade show, is proud to announce a new curatorial partnership with The Folklore, the commerce platform helping emerging brands grow faster, save more, and sell globally, beginning with the next season of Shoppe Object x The Folklore Black Lives Matter Action Initiative (BLMAI). This initiative offers subsidized booth space in a dedicated area at Shoppe Object’s New York City show – taking place February 2-4, 2025, at their new home: The Starrett-Lehigh Building – to talented independent Black designers and makers.

Jesse James, Founder and Show Director of Shoppe Object.

“BLMAI is all about fostering a more representative home and gift market by sponsoring talented Black designers and business owners each season,”

Ten brands have been selected by The Folklore to showcase their work at the upcoming show; they will also receive a complimentary full year of The Folklore membership and digital exhibition on Shoppe Online.

Amira Rasool, Founder and CEO of The Folklore

“We’re super excited to be teaming up with Shoppe Object to curate the brands for their BLAMI program,”

“When it comes to the home and gift market, Shoppe Object always tops the list for our brand members, so the synergy was already there. Trade shows are still the heart of wholesale trade, and we’re happy to partner with them to continue creating space for Black designers to benefit from all the good that comes from participating in physical selling.”

This winter's lineup includes textiles, jewelry, home fragrances, and more.
