ARISE Fashion Week Announces Designers and Dates for 2023

This February, ARISE Fashion Week will make its return to Lagos with a three-day celebration of ARISE’s impact on the fashion industry in Africa and across the globe, after being held at the Dubai Expo in 2021. Titled “ARISE Fashion Week & Jazz Festival: Future Forward”, the 20th edition of the event will take place from February 2-4, and promises to take attendees on an exciting journey filled with world-class designers and jazz-themed performances from acclaimed international artists.

ARISE Fashion Week is often billed as Nigeria’s premiere fashion event, and since its inception in 2008 has featured world-renowned designers from Africa and around the world, including Deola Sagoe, Lanre Da Silva Ajayi, Ozwald Boateng, Lisa Folawiyo, Tiffany Amber, Kenneth Ize, LaQuan Smith and many more, laying the foundation for the creative renaissance taking place across the continent today.

More than 25 designers from Africa and across the diaspora will be presenting new collections at the show, including Nigeria’s Pepper Row, KADIJU, and Fruché, Ghanaian brand AJABENG, Malian designer Awa Meité and London-based Bianca Saunders.

ARISE Fashion Week has long been a leader in celebrating and promoting the new generation of African fashion designers, and their potential for connection and creation within the global fashion industry. The 2020 show saw the introduction of the ARISE Fashion’s 30 Under 30 Contest “New Stars”, a four-day design competition with a $100,000 first-place grant, which was handed out by supermodel Naomi Campbell to the winner, Nigerian designer Kenneth Ize.

Over the years, ARISE Fashion Week has gone on the road, from Washington D.C and New York to Cape Town, and Dubai in 2021. Its return to Lagos for 2023 marks its 20th edition and promises to be a memorable event.
